Transamerica Financial Advisors Launches TFA Synergy’s Automated Accounts Function

Wizard-based data entry, automated populating-form functions and eSignature eliminate errors and save time

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 27, 2007) –  Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. has announced the launch of TFA Synergy’s automated new accounts function, a key component of its comprehensive paperless office platform.

TFA Synergy is built on state-of-the-art technology provided by leading suppliers familiar with the requirements of the financial services industry, including SunGard®, and the Quik!® enterprise forms solutions from Efficient Technology, Inc.

"TFA Synergy’s straight-through process eliminates the need to print and mail documents and gives the reps the opportunity to focus on driving business versus managing paper," said Sandy Brown, president of Transamerica Financial Advisors.

With SunGard’s new automated accounts function, brokers will be able to use a wizard-based data-entry feature to gather client data to open new accounts, set up cases for existing clients and conduct maintenance on existing accounts.

Powered by the Quik! enterprise suite of technologies, the automated accounts function generates pre-filled form bundles. Depending on the transaction, TFA Synergy will select and pre-fill the appropriate forms including all needed compliance documentation and product applications. Once the client information is gathered by the broker, TFA Synergy automatically populates the appropriate forms, saving the Rep time from manually filling out forms and preventing errors.

Transamerica Financial Advisors has also entered into an agreement to incorporate Interlink Electronics, Inc.’s IntegriSign Desktop software and family of ePad signature capture devices into the new automated accounts function.

"It is essential that reps open new accounts quickly and accurately," said Sandy Brown. "The automated account function and auto-populating forms bundle eliminate many of the input errors that cost reps time and money. We are especially excited about adding a robust eSignature feature to our platform."

SunGard’s new automated account function helps Transamerica Financial Advisors gain operational efficiencies. "It captures information accurately and early in the process—making complex rules, requirements and compliance efforts easier to manage," said Brown. "It also reduces the time and costs associated with re-entering data on multiple forms, and frees up time for both our reps and employees to focus on revenue-generating activities."

According to Paul Erickson, president of SunGard’s Protegent business unit, "SunGard’s new automated accounts function will help improve the accuracy of the data and help reduce the time financial advisors spend on a lengthy and error-prone process."

Quik! has built its reputation as a leader in straight-through processing and seamless integration with existing process flows that result in faster transactions with fewer errors.

As the TFA Synergy platform is e-signature-enabled with the combination of Interlink’s IntegriSign software and Quik! Forms, registered representatives will be able to use their ePad to capture their clients' e-signature. The signature, including date and time, is securely encrypted then tamper sealed along with the form data.

"eSignatures ensure that a process remains electronic, even when signatures are required, which significantly improves the productivity of the representatives," explains Mr. Rod Vesling, vice president of Sales and Marketing with Interlink Electronics Inc.

The automated accounts and forms-bundle functions work in concert with TFA Synergy’s other major components: Web-based document management and automated compliance review.

Powered by Laserfiche, TFA Synergy’s Web-based document management system replaces seas of paperwork that can clutter up reps’ offices with a "virtual filing cabinet" that offers security and privacy, while reducing administrative overhead.

TFA Synergy’s automated compliance review is fueled by SunGard’s Protegent Surveillance solution, which features transaction supervision and surveillance, account risk ranking, and Rep review to help compliance staff recognize red flags, identify issues early, and correct situations as soon as possible. The extensive rules library within this solution helps determine suitable transactions based on client profiles; client/household financial information and holdings; product parameters; and industry and Transamerica Financial Advisors’ guidelines.
